1) Wired has come out and said that non-pro blogging is dead – Do you agree? Is that a reason for micro-blogging’s growth?
- Non-pro blogging won’t die. Blogs create level ground for content creation & collaboration. Micro-blogging is extension, not replacement.
2) Everyone wants hard metrics but social media marketing seems to deliver softer brand type metrics – how can biz reconcile between the two?
- Any measurement must be measured over a longer term. And measuring engagement and reach is more important than measuring just presence
3) Companies seem to be listening to consumers more (e.g. mystarbucksidea.com) what brand is engaging consumers most in the social arena?
- Dell quickly comes to mind (see @RichardatDELL). Consumers loyal to a brand are loyal 1st because of a person behind the brand
4) Is there a danger of over exposing your brand or image on social media sites like Twitter?
- I don’t think there’s a danger of social media overexposure of a brand There’s more likely an unbalance of noise v signal. Work your plan
5) What piece of software, web 2.0 or other tool are people only now starting to pick up that you think will become a mainstay
- I think FriendFeed’s potential is misunderstood. It’s not just to publish (which you can do), it’s a big value to your reader/audience
