Twitterview #5 – Jen Harris
There are a few people who I decided I absolutely must Twitterview if this site was going to have the impact that I wanted it to and Jen Harris is one of them. So a huge thanks to Jen for taking the time to do this. If you haven’t been following Jen’s story via Twitter or otherwise now is your chance. Comments are always welcome.
Name: Jen Harris
Twitter Name: @jenharris09
Website: http://caffeinatedmarketing.wordpress.com/
1) You decided to make your recent layoff as public as you could using Twitter? What was your motivation?
- Letting my TwitSphere know that I was back on the market…and keep my husband in the loop…..kidding: I text’d him
2) Do you think some potential employers have been scared off by your public search?
- If they’re scared by a blog, then we wouldn’t be the right fit for each other anyway. No sense in puling teeth
3) While positive comments and tweets of encouragement are nice, any real leads via Twit that wouldn’t have happened otherwise?
- Yes, but not as quickly. WOM is powerful, there’s more than just my TwitSphere that knows, their non-Twitter friends knew just as fast
4) Is social media marketing the same for marketing yourself as it is for marketing a brand?
- U are your brand. In today’s world if you pitch/talk one way, but customers and employees see another – u and your brand lose so there are subtle differences, but the concepts of transparency and personality are the same
5) What is the next chapter in the @JenHarris09 story?
- Debating if I should go out on my own & yes, I will continue to write. My blogs will, no doubt, start from a conversation on Twitter.
