1) Wired has come out and said that non-pro blogging is dead – Do you agree? Is that a reason for micro-blogging’s growth?
- Blogging isn’t dead
Like saying “writing” is dead. Microblogging offers an immediacy that is attractive & addictive.
2) People have written about the lack of political party use of s-media in Canada what can we learn from the USA?
- Real political power in communities, not 1to1 – find ways to engage whole communities in political dialogue & activities.
3) Everyone wants hard metrics but social media marketing seems to deliver softer brand type metrics – how can biz reconcile between the two?
- Hard metrics will come when we get better at measuring influence & reach of individuals. Still hard to quantify.
4) Is there such thing as a traditional press release any more? Does the social media release have the legs to replace traditional PR?
- PR is about relationships. SMR is 1 tool to facilitate a digital relationship. Many others in a PRs kit. Trad PR lives
5) Starbucks has mystarbucksidea.com where the voice of the consumer is heard and acted on, who else is doing this well?
- Anyone on getsatisfaction.com – where you can publically respond & collaborate w/ customers. Ultimate in transparency.
